Camping…or Glamping in Ibiza

camping1

You may have stayed in a hotel room in Ibiza or a villa, but if you’re looking to experience something a little more ‘down to earth’, Ibiza has seven official campsites for you to choose from.

Why not spend some time under the stars, enjoying the clean, fresh sea air and the sound of cicadas lulling you to sleep in the evening? All of the sites are kid-friendly, and some have children’s entertainers and baby sitters if you want to spend some time doing your own thing.

Three sites on the west coast and four on the east ensure that you’ll easily be able to find a site that suits your needs, or if you’re feeling adventurous, you could travel around and stay in more than one during your time on the island and really get a ‘feel’ for the wonderful countryside we have here.

Camping has come a long way in recent years, with most sites offering facilities that would put some of the bigger hotels to shame. Long-gone are the days of a site being just a field with a cold tap in one corner and very basic toilet and bathing facilities! The list of amenities at all sites now is very impressive, although they can vary, so make sure you do your research before booking. For example, Camping San Antonio has a restaurant and pool available for guest’s use, whereas Camping La Playa in Es Canar has a yoga area, direct access to the beach and  live music.

If you don’t have your own equipment, tents are available for all budgets, from a simple two-man all the way up to a huge bell-tent with your own  furniture, dressing mirror, iPod dock, fan and mini bar. Glamping at its best!

If you want a taste of the al fresco life, but think you’d like more than a thin layer of canvas between yourself and the great outdoors, then some sites offer caravans, wood cabins and bungalows for rent. If you’re a newcomer, then this could be a great introduction to camping, and a low-risk way of seeing if you’d be willing to take things a step further in the future!

If you’re thinking of trying a camping holiday in Ibiza, then don’t forget that we can provide equipment to make your experience even more pleasurable, such as bicycles, barbeques, travel cots and hairdryers. Take a look at our ‘Holiday Equipment’ page for more information.
