DC10 – all good things must come to an end

It feels like high school all over again. Rumours are circulating the internet with a game of he said, she said. Will DC10 open in 2016? Fact is we can make assumptions all we want, but we will not find the answers.

DC10 has put underground techno on the map. Since 1999 ravers have watched the planes fly over the old airport hangers terrace at Circo Loco, the place to be on Mondays now for nearly 20 years. It’s a club that most dream to visit at least once in their lifetime and for Dj’s a club they wish to play at; for few it becomes a reality. Some of the biggest names in club land have taken centre stage including, Loco Dice, Luciano, Jamie Jones, Steve Lawler, Patrick Topping, Marco Carola, Carl Cox, Sven Vath and Richie Hawtin. It doesn’t stop at Circo Loco however, Paradise Jamie Jones’ Wednesday residency has quickly become a favourite on the island and this summer Tale of Us also took over a few select Fridays.

DC10 New Years Day

For New Year’s Eve many travelled from all corners of the globe to celebrate. What if this was to be the last time they opened the doors for 2016? It would leave thousands of party goers disappointed and Circo Loco and Paradise without a home! There have also been rumours Seth Troxler would have his own night, however all rumours have been denied by his agency.

In 2008 and 2009 there were enforced closures and threats to close the much loved club down for good. This was due to DC10 exceeding their bar licence of 68 people. Anyone that has ever been to the club would know there is most certainly a lot more than that crammed in there.  It isn’t just capacity issues unfortunately, there are also issues with violating closing times and noise pollution. The club has been on probation since the drama in 2008 and many think that 2016 might be the final straw for local government.

They say all good things must come to an end, but does it really have to end yet? 2 weeks ago on Facebook DC10 hinted that all was ok and there would be more information for Ibiza 2016 soon.

All we can do now is wait.
