El Sapo – Peruvian tapas bar in San Antonio, Ibiza
Spending most of my time in and around the San Antonio area I thought I would know most of the restaurants that pop up in the summer! It was a pleasant surprise to be invited to a friends birthday party at a place I had not yet visited this was El Sapo. El Sapo is centrally located in a little side street yet only minutes walk from the west end and Eden and Es Paradis so anyone staying in San Antonio has no excuse not to visit.
Decorated in a modern/industrial style with crates on the wall, bare light bulbs huge graffiti pictures on the wall you will have plenty to look at for the short time you have to wait for your food to arrive. There are also tables outside should you wish to have a beer and people watch
The menu offer approximately 15 different dishes none of which you will find in a standard Spanish tapas bar. Among others you can choose from stuffed potatoes, Chalaca mussels, stir fry beef, mini fish and chips, Yuquitas friend chicken and my favorite ceviche if tapas is not your thing then dont fear as there are several homemade gourmet burgers and various vegetarian options. Dishes range from 4 – 10 so you can feel free to order several different options without breaking the bank.
Food is not the only thing from Peru, dont leave without trying the Pisco Sour a strong Peruvian speciality made with pisco, lime, egg white, syrup and angostura bitters.
If you are looking for something a little different then El Sapo is the place to go! And after your dining experience here you will want to plan a trip to South America!
