Ibiza Beaches: Cala Martina

Located within close proximity to Es Cana, famed for its weekly Hippie Market, the stunning stretch of sand dubbed Cala Martina is a popular destination for sun worshippers. The shores are great for exploring all that this area of Ibiza has to offer, reaching all the way down to the busy resort of Santa Eulalia. This is a few miles trek however, and in the hottest summer months is only recommended for the more dedicated of walkers.

The beach of Cala Martina is particularly popular for water sports enthusiasts as it can pick up a good southerly breeze. On particularly good days for wind, you will find the shores lined with windsurfers trying to catch a wave or two. The breeze is also ideal during high times of humidity for anyone looking for a bit of respite. Other water sports are also plentiful here including diving, snorkelling and sailing. Tourists can even find a bit of pedalo action on offer for a more relaxed foray into water activity.

The views at Cala Martina are particularly lovely. The deep, blue Mediterranean Sea can be enjoyed in all its glory and due to the sheer breadth of its shores, there is plenty of potential for some fantastic panoramic snapshots. Amenities are plentiful, making the beach popular for a wide range of ages and groups. Sunbeds and parasols can be rented for daily use.

A selection of busy bars and restaurants can be found around the edge of the beach. Tourists can wile away the day with a cool beer and some delicious tapas when the sun gets a bit too much. Local musicians can often be found entertaining the crowds in many of these venues too.

Easily reached by foot or bicycle from Es Cana, tourists staying further afield and are utilising car hire should consider using the parking facilities there as they are somewhat limited closer to the beach itself.
