Ibiza Clubs: Es Paradis

If you were to ask ‘mirror mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?’ You are likely to hear the answer Es Paradis. Es Paradis Terrenal, when translated to English literally means ‘Heaven on Earth’. Opened in 1975 by Pepe Aguirre, he enlisted the help of Luis Guell of Cafe Del Mar fame, to construct this Ibiza landmark. The building itself is primarily white built around Romanesque pillars, producing a combination of both strength and beauty. Completing the building are beautiful gardens and walkways, which would not be out of place in a stately home. Inside the club the airy, floral theme continues and the raised walkways which rise up around the venue, give party goers an exceptional vantage point.

Situated next door to Eden, Es Paradis is just a stones throw away from the San Antonio Bay waterfront; easily accessible from many of the popular bars and early evening watering holes. The large main room is designed around a dipped dance floor which is the central point for their infamous water parties ‘Fiesta Del Agua’. The powerful water spray gradually fills this throughout the evening, creating a pool in the centre of the club for revellers to immerse themselves in. Look up, and you will find a series of interlinking podiums which are filled throughout the summer months with theatrically attired dancers. You may even cast your eyes across the Lovely Laura, a saxophonist who has become synonymous with their Hed Kandi Saturday night show.

With the exclusive La Lune Prive VIP area, you will be able to look down over the whole venue and anyone to choose this exclusive option is sure to feel like Ibizan royalty. As you ascend the open staircase to your VIP table, it will be hard for other clubbers not to turn their eyes to you.

2013 sees the return of a range of popular nights. Monday nights will again play host to Alex Kunnari who will be playing out the best in international dance music. Tuesday is a twist on their traditional water party with an 80s and 90s themed soundtrack. On Wednesdays, Es Paradis teams up with Ibiza Rocks with residents like Doorly taking to the decks. Kisstory is back on Thursdays with a weekly journey into the best of old skool and garage, with DJ EZ, Wideboys, Luck & Neat and more. Fridays see everyone’s favourite way to cool down, Fiesta Del Agua enter its 38th year! Finally, Saturdays have the return of Hed Kandi which continues to be treat to both the eyes and the ears.
