Known simply as Ibiza amongst locals, the capital of the island can be separated into three main areas: – the old town (Dalt Vila), the new town, and the bustling harbourfront.

Dominated by the magnificent World Heritage Site (UNESCO 1999), Dalt Vila boasts of an ancient fort, tall castle walls, a monumental mountain top castle, and an 18th century, Roman Catholic Cathedral. Rich with ancient history, Dalt Vila offers an insight into the life and inhabitants of centuries past.

Cobbled streets and winding alleys will take you on a journey into the heart of the town. The architecture is simply breath-taking, and the town is alive with a multicultural and friendly vibe.

The cosmopolitan harbour is where you can find an array of luxury yachts and sailboats, if you get the chance, take a trip from the main harbour, on the local ferry to visit Ibiza’s sister island, Formentera.
At night-time, Ibiza Town comes alive with street parades, carnivals, and market stalls. It is an amazing and diverse place to be.

The closest beach to the town center is Talamanca, a family-friendly beach dotted with bars and restaurants. The waters are shallow and clear, with pedalos, kayaks, and jet skis available for hire.
The second beach in Ibiza Town is Figueretas beach, which offers great views across the old town and the marina. The promenade here is particularly vibrant and bustling during the summer evenings, with many street stalls and performers.

The town’s tree-lined streets are bursting with boutiques and stores, offering everything from designer beach attire to fabulous footwear.

Ibiza Town is home to the island’s cultural tourist attractions, museums, and galleries. The Museum of Contemporary Art displays a great variety of works by local and international artists. History lovers may be interested in the ‘Necropolis del Puig des Molins’, an ancient burial site with more than 3,000 tombs, and the Archaeological Museum of Dalt Vila, where Phoenician remains and museum content spanning three thousand years of Pityusic history.

Ibiza Town is also the capital of the island’s nightlife scene. Perhaps the most famous club in the world, Pacha, is located just outside the town center, attracting hundreds of thousands of revelers each summer.
