San Carlos is a small village located a short distance from the island’s third-largest town, Santa Eulalia. Here situated around the central white Ibicencan church, a handful of traditional shops, selling authentic Ibicencan goods can be found as well as an array of both traditional and new global cuisine restaurants can be found.

San Carlos is perhaps most famous for its significance during the late 1960s and early 1970s. Anita’s bar is one of Ibiza’s original hippy bars on the island. Here crowds would gather all day, every day to eat, drink, socialise, and use the only telephone box on the island. It is said Mick Jagger was a regular during these early days.

The restaurant is just as popular today among locals and still holds all of its original character. Humble with no frills, Bar Anita is a restaurant that has stood still in time and is well worth a visit.

Popular beaches such as Auga Blancas, Cala Llenya, and Cala Mastella are all within a short distance which also hosts a more rustic and authentic style, just like the village of San Carlos.

San Carlos is also home to Las Dalias, the island’s most renowned and best markets.
