San Mateu Ibiza

San Mateu Ibiza

Quiet, peaceful, and traditional village with a small church

Highlights:- Quiet, peaceful, and traditional village with a small church

Fiesta Date:- 21 September

Situated 19km from Ibiza town and 13km from San Antonio, San Mateu is one of Ibiza’s smaller villages but boasts incredible scenery with beautiful landscapes surrounding the center.

San Mateu is filled with fruit fields and vines, widely known for its production of wine. Every year in December, a wine festival ‘fiesta del vino’ is held and is a great day out if you are lucky enough to be in Ibiza at this time of year.

There is also a fantastic winery situated on the outskirts of San Mateu ‘Sa Cova’ and ‘Can Maymo’ where they offer wine tasting and a tour of the beautiful vineyards.

Surrounding the village’s central white and traditional 18th-century church, lies two very lovely but small restaurants in San Mateu, both Es Camp Vell and Can Cires are open throughout the entire year.
San Mateo is the perfect place to take long strolls around the surrounding countryside and embrace the wonderfully natural side of the island.
