Radio 1 Weekend Makes August in Ibiza Even Hotter!
Temperatures here on The White Isle this season have regularly been approaching 40°, and last week the mercury rose even further when the guys and girls from Radio 1 arrived.
Okay, I’m talking figuratively, but with a fresh influx of tourists arriving from around the globe, the anticipation of three days of quality music played by the best DJs and the August sun beating down on everyone, it definitely seemed to be at least ten degrees hotter than the week before!
At Ibizahire we’ve always said, “There’s a LOT more to Ibiza than just music”, but for three days in August, with more than fifty DJs playing in three superb locations, that saying is far from our minds and ‘Radio 1 Weekend’ are the words on most people’s lips.
All of the Ibizahire gang were in the thick of it again this year. We put on our dancing shoes, and even though there were a few tender heads the following morning/s, we can honestly say it was worth the suffering.
From experience we can tell you that there were around 10,000 in Privilege, 7,000 at Ushuaia and at least 3,000 at Mambo!
And one of the best things about it? To experience these events first-hand, it doesn’t have to cost you a single, solitary baked bean!
If you’re planning on coming over for Radio 1 Ibiza Weekend 2013, work the system!
Check out Facebook, Twitter, Radio 1 and their partner’s websites, enter competitions, look out for the free wristbands when you arrive, handcuff yourself to the railings outside Pete Tong’s house and beg him for a guest-list place when he’s paying the milkman. Actually, that last one may be a bit extreme, but you get the idea.
If you’re not lucky enough to grab a freebie, you can purchase tickets from us here at Ibizahire when they become available.
You can book your accomodation here, too. We have a huge range of villas, apartments and hotel rooms to suit all budgets.
Dates for Radio 1 Weekend Ibiza 2013 will probably be the first Friday, Saturday and Sunday in August, but are officially announced around mid-May.
It’s already in our diaries as a ‘must-do’!
