A 1 night opening party wasn’t enough for Sankeys, so they had 2!

The opening parties are finally here with thousands flocking to the white aisle. This week welcomed the International Music Summit, the opening of Booom Defected in the House and of course Sankeys.

The streets have been filled with posters promoting the parties, promoters giving out flyers and of course people wearing their Viva Warriors headbands. So many came just to see the underground club open it’s doors once again. Year on year Sankeys has grown an almost cult like following of fans. We witnessed people driving by Sankeys during the day yelling from their cars and scooters “I love you Sankeys”.

Sankeys has 3 rooms in total, 2 VIP areas and an outdoor terrace which in total can hold 1500. There is even a chill out area with an indoor cinema.

As you arrive to Sankeys there are 3 sets of double doors to block the intense VOID system sound from the street. The first room you enter is the Basement which is similar to Sankeys in Manchester. It is extremely dark with a LED cage and low ceilings which gives it that real underground vibe.

In the Lab you will experience high ceilings, bright coloured walls, an incredible lighting show. There is a box right in the middle of the dance floor where you can dance stare directly in the eyes of the DJ as they drop some of the best music your ears will ever hear. Surrounding the Lab is a balcony that almost looks like a cage where you can overlook all the action below.

Spektrum has brilliant LED lighting and of course an amazing sound system. For some fresh air step into the Sankey’s Terrace where you can cool down from all the dancing and gaze up at the stars; for the serious party animals wait until morning and watch the sun rise.

One night wasn’t enough for Sankeys so they spread it out over 2. Part 1 on Wednesday 21st was Tribal Sessions with Denny Tenaglia, Darius Syrossian. Dave Rasario, East End Dubs, Enzo Siragusa, Greg Vickers, Josef K, Recondite, Shlomi Aber, Sidney Charles and The Element. The 12 hour party kicked off at 6pm with a BBQ for all ticket holders. The crowd was filled with feather headbands and faces with tribal face paint.

Part 2 was just as amazing as Part 1 with an amazing line up. The Basement had Ibiza favourite Steve Lawler as well as Hot Since 82, Andrea Oliva and Marina Karamarko. The LAB danced the night away to Duke Dumont, Amine Edge and Dance, Finnebassen and Disciples. Thousands sang in unison to Duke Dumont’s hit “I got you” which was a highlight of the night.

At Sankeys there is something every night of the week to suit everyones taste buds.

Mondays: Duke Dumont presents Blasé Boys Club

Tuesday – Fuse

Wednesday – Tribal Sessions

Thursday – Cuff

Friday – Flying Circus

Saturday – Magna Carter

Sunday – Viva Warriors

For club tickets check out clubbing calendar. It works out cheaper to buy prior to the events and also means you can’t enter the club much quicker.

TIP FOR THE LADIES: We recommend wearing flat shoes not only so you can dance the night away but it gets very busy and there are lots of stairs.

HOW TO GET THERE: Sankeys is located in central Playa D’en Bossa and is approximately €25 from San Antonio and €10 fro Ibiza Town. There is also bus that runs which will cost €2-4 euro.

VIP: There are 2 VIP areas at Sankeys. There is one in the Lab which has an amazing view of the DJ and to watch party goers below. The Basement VIP area is raised and is just behind the main bar with perfect view of the DJ. VIP tables can often work out cheaper and a great option if you are planning a big night. They do sell out fast so be sure to plan in advance. Ibizahire can organise VIP tables, contact us today.
