Travelling from Ibiza to the UK by ferry – Part 2 Bilbao to Portsmouth

The great thing with the Cap Finistere is the pet friendly cabins they offer. They only have around 15 of these cabins on board but if you book plenty in advance it’s definitely worth it to have your pooch with you!

The cabins on board are your standard 4 berth cabins with en suite shower room- which is great if there are only 2 passengers as the dog gets its own bed!

The  Cap Finistere is a modern comfortable boat with 2 restaurants on board-One being an Al a carte style restaurant serving scallops and steaks and the other being a more cafe style serving things such as spaghetti Bolognese, beef bourguignon and sandwiches.

There are also 2 bar areas with entertainment and a duty fee shop and a small cinema on board and a swimming pool for the summer months.

The crossing across the Bay of Biscay can be sometimes very rough but luck was on our side and the weather was great and the crossing smooth.
One thing I can definitely recommend is trying the breakfast in the A la carte restaurant, especially if you have a long drive once you arrive in the UK. For £10 you get mini breads and croissants, cereals, juice, tea and coffee and a full English breakfast which is very good quality!

We arrived into the UK on time; we did have a little wait once we had arrived into Portsmouth for the ferry to unload but in all it was a great and efficient experience. Once clearing customs we were back to the delightful somewhat ‘fresh’ weather and started the long journey up north.
