A group of friends and I thought we would stay local and try Villa Mercedes in San Antonio.
The beautiful restaurant was built in 1901 and is set in stunning landscaped gardens, the restaurant located directly looking over San Antonio marina is built on different levels-with an outside cocktail bar plus a Moroccan styled chill out area with four poster beds!
Villa Mercedes is also host to the spectacular Paco Fernandez who has a regular spot on a Friday evening here- his fantastic music perfectly accompanies great food.
The menu has a great choice of culinary delights, including fresh fish, suckling pig, fillet steak and risotto with scallops!
They also offer a 35Euro 3 course menu with gazpacho, fresh fish and chocolate Cake.
To start I opted for the cofit of duck with wok vegetables which was absolutely delicious. For main I treated myself to fillet steak with red wine sauce-it was tender and juicy and cooked to perfection.
For dessert me and a friend shared the chocolate cake, as a chocolate lover I’m pretty picky with my chocolate cake, but this was by far the most amazing chocolate cake I’ve ever tasted- accompanied oh so perfectly with thick caramel sauce…..Mmmmmm
After dinner we headed to the chill out area, with Paco Fernandez and friends playing in the background, glass of wine in hand plus great company it was hard to think the San Antonio’s West end was just 5minutes away!
In all we had a great evening and I have to say the meal was one of the best I’ve had all summer a big thumbs up to Villa Mercedes.
So head over to San Antonio to villa Mercedes and be assured it won’t disappoint!
