What to do on a rainy day in Ibiza?

rain es vedra

Ibiza generally benefits from an average of 300 days of sunshine per year, however, when the storm clouds gather, and island residents delight in the much needed rain, it can be a dismal sight for holidaymakers. However, don’t despair, there are plenty of activities to keep you busy on the White Island when the rains arrive.

Wine and Dine

Take advantage of the rainy weather to discover some of the finest eateries on the island. Head north to Cas Pages, on the road from Santa Eulalia to San Carlos. This traditional restaurant has an inviting interior with a roaring open fire to warm your soul on a rainy day. The place is famous for its meat, so tuck into a solomillo (fillet steak) accompanied by hand cut chips and a bottle of house red and let your troubles fade away. Or enjoy a feast of tapas dishes in the cosy surroundings of Bon Lloc in Jesus, a firm favourite with locals and holidaymakers for many years.

Shop ‘Till You Drop

Take a trip to Ibiza Town and discover the hundreds of boutiques and stores catering to all tastes and budgets. The tree lined streets are literally bursting with a treasure trove of clothes, shoes, swimwear and jewellery stores to suit all tastes and budgets. Or why not check out the world famous Hippy Markets in Es Canar (Wednesdays) and Las Dalias (Saturdays) for a more bohemian selection of trinkets and souvenirs.

Pampering

Bad weather is the perfect excuse for a little self indulgence. Check out one of the many spas on the island and treat yourself to a long lingering massage, manicure or pedicure until the sun is shining again. Atzaro, Hacienda Na Xamena and Can Curreu all offer a great deal on day passes to their stunning spa areas. Or for the ultimate treat – have a mobile therapist come to your villa or hotel. Ibiza Hire has a great selection of island professionals, see our website https://www.ibizahire.com/beauty-massage-treatments-ibiza for more information.

Play

For those with young children, entertaining them on a rainy day can be a challenge. Put away the iPads and head out to Piroleto Park in Playa D’en Bossa. This purpose built soft play centre has a huge indoor section, with ball parks, climbing frames and trampolines. Or why not head to Bowling Vila Parc Center in Ibiza Town for a spot of ten pin bowling, something to keep the whole family happy.

So, don’t panic, the rain doesn’t have to mean your holiday is a wash out! In fact, you may discover some aspects of Ibiza that you would have missed in the blazing sunshine!
