Dalt Vila (Ibiza Old Town) Ibiza
Dalt Vila, also known as the Old Town, is located at the top of the mountain and is the city’s most famous landmark. This World Heritage Site (1999) features historical architecture, monumental castle grounds, and the central Roman Catholic cathedral, Santa Maria d’Eivissa.
Visitors interested in Dalt Vila’s history and fortified area, which has been occupied since Phoenician times, should consider taking a Dalt Vila guided tour, either privately or in public groups. Getting to know the ‘Old Town’ is best done with an expert to show you the old streets, monuments, churches, and all the main sights.
In contrast, if you want to take in the local atmosphere at your own pace, you can casually stroll up the steep, winding cobbled streets dotted with al fresco-style restaurants, bars, boutiques, and artisan shops to the mountaintop. Reaching the summit is quite a treat, offering outstanding panoramic views over the town below, the port, Ses Salines, and over to Formentera.
